Sayonara Japan, Haseyo Korea
Yesteday we bid farewell to Japan... I really liked leaving on a boat, seeing the coastline sink away into the distance seemed like a nice way to leave. Even more appropriate was leaving from Fukuoka because it was the first Japanese city I learned about as a child when looking up a certain bad work on a computer atlas. It is a really nice city and we had a great time exploring and on the last night we at fugu (blowfish) and drank beer in an outdoor restaurant.
The boat to Korea was fantastic. For a mere $90 we got a small room on a ship that looked vaguely like the Titanic. I had to supress the urge to sing Celine Dion the whole time. With our money we could also use the public bath. The baths were placed infront of two huge windows overlooking the ocean. We could soak and watch the sea while the boat rocked. It was amazing but by the end of the trip I felt quite seasick.
Once we arrived in Busan we picked our way through the city on the way to our hostel. The first thing that struck me about Korea was how friendly and outgoing people are. From the time we got off the boat until we arrived at the hostel we had no less than 5 people come up to us. Some people spoke excellent English and some didn`t speak at all but EVERYONE was so kind and helpful. Amazing!
Today we made our way to a smaller city called Gyung-ju that is about 1 hour from Busan by bus. This city has a lot of ancient buildings and is very green. Today we visited a series of tombs, very large mounds of rock and grass, a very large complex of buildings around a pond and a really old observatory. Apparently the observatory is the oldest one in Asia.
That`a about all I can think of right now. It feels fansastic to be out of work and wandering around!

You felt a little seasick... i'd be throwing up in the water (just like in Cozumel and Key Largo!)
Glad you weren't sick!
