Leaving Korea...
My time in Korea is almost done. Tomorrow night we board the ferry bound for Tianjin, China. I have had a great time in Korea, It's been a surprising and pleasant experience. To think, I didn't really want to come here!
The last couple of days have been pretty exciting. Yesterday we took a VERY slow train to a small town called Cheongpung. The only merit of this town was its proximity to an artificial lake and a large tower off which we could BUNGEE! That's right, I went bungee jumping. It was an utterly terrifying experience but in the end I was happy that I did it. I think the only reason I jumped was the Korean bungee guy standing right behind me yelling 'THREE TWO ONE BUNGEE!!'. In hindsight I think I was scared he would push me off. After this we went to a smaller town called Ganchon to go biking. I have to say that riding on a tandem bike with Amy was more scary than the bungee jumping.
Today we went on a tour of the Demilitarized Zone, the line between the Democratic People's Republic of Korea and plain old Republic of Korea. I'll give the communist half one thing, they sure did think of a grand name! Our tour was a scaled down version of the one you take that is sponsored by the US Army. I was happy with it because: 1. It was cheaper, 2. It wasn't lead by Americans, 3. Our tour guide was a hilarious Korean lady named 'Sophie' who was decked out in a pink bomber jacket. We caught a glimpse of the North Korean side and saw some rather bored looking soldiers. Also, We walked down into one of the N. Korean spy tunnels. It was a cool experience but it was also sad in light of the fact that there are still 10 million families separated because the Koreas are not unified.
That is about all from Korea. I have eaten some crazy food, always containing Kimchi, seen some interesting things and found a Starbucks. I look forward to arriving in China, I think it is going to be a lot different and more difficult to travel because of the language barrier. Cross my fingers that there is a Starbucks in Beijing haha.

ONE TWO THREE BUNGEE is probably the funniest thing I've heard all week.
